TEN-YEAR-OLD Thuthukani Sibisi was chosen as John Wesley School’s SPAR Star of the Month.

He recently played his very first official rugby game and not only was it his first game, but the very first game for his school, where rugby was recently introduced for the first time in its history.

Although his team did not win against the opposing side, Thuthukani was the very first John Wesley School pupil to score a try for both his team and his school.

Soccer is Thuthukani’s first love but he admits, with a smile, that rugby takes a close second. “ He is an enthusiastic and talented young man with tremendous potential,” said the sports coordinator, Sonez Barnard.

The sports intern, and former pupil at the school, Sifiso Madikizela, added that although Thuthukani is the youngest in his team, he was quick on his feet and the coaches would definitely encourage the development of his skills.
