New church bell rings in Hillcrest

The Durban Christian Centre will expand its reach into the Hillcrest community with its first service on Sunday 5 October.

THE Durban Christian Centre (DCC) will launch a new campus at the Oxford Village Centre on Sunday 5 October.

Pastor John Torrens, senior pastor at the DCC Jesus Dome in Durban, said that the development of the new church was in line with the vision to reach as many people as possible with the gospel and to care for the community.

Durban Christian Centre, which was established in Durban 35 years ago by Dr Fred Roberts, already has campuses in Phoenix, Chatsworth, Lamotville, Berea Road, Wentworth and the Bluff besides the flagship Jesus Dome, situated in Mayville.

Pastor Torrens said that the new church would start with a Sunday morning service at 10am on 5 October.

The venue is conveniently situated below the Oxford Village Centre, which will provide adequate parking. “We plan to move quickly and have at least three services a week and to attract young people is part of the vision for the new campus,” said Pastor Torrens.
