FULTON School for the Deaf brought Enid Blyton’s fantasy book, The Magic Faraway Tree, to the stage in its annual play last week.
The four protagonists, Joe, Beth, Frannie and Rick travel to seven magical different worlds, from The Land of Fun to the Land of Presents and the Land of Magic. Each one of these various lands had beautifully crafted set pieces, props and costumes which sucked the viewers into the entertaining story.
There were three weeks of preparation for the play and Melissa Retallick helped teach the pupils the splendid choreography to match all the up beat music.
“We were very excited and really proud of all of our pupils that took part in the play. It is absolutely amazing what they have produced on top of learning for their tests and exams. It is a really great achievement for them,” said Cheryl Devnath, HOD for the intermediate phase at Fulton School for the Deaf.
