John Wesley soccer team nets gold

MWELISI Mamela, Elihle Gasa, Khwezi Sigcau, Nthokozo Qwabe, Vuyile Masuku, Mazwamahle Ntombela, Thabo Kubheka and Asante Mthembu form John Wesley School’s unbeatable U13 boys’ soccer team.

The team were excited to have made it through to the final at the Northdene 5-A-Side Soccer Tournament recently and were ecstatic when they took home the gold for the second year in a row.

Darron Tarr, deputy principal at the school, who was at the match to cheer them on, said he was incredibly proud of the players. “They played with passion and commitment and demonstrated incredible composure during the penalty shootout that ultimately decided the outcome of the final,” he said.
