Waterfall Pre-Primary –  where children learn, play and grow

Nestled on the beautiful 41-acre iThemba Campus overlooking the Valley of 1000 Hills, Waterfall Pre-Primary has become a haven for young children to play, learn and thrive. Since opening its doors in 2016, the school has built a reputation for creating a ‘home away from home’ – a space where little ones feel secure, nurtured and free to be themselves.

Led by Principal Paula Mason, Waterfall Pre-Primary has a passionate team of qualified teachers, assistants and interns who share a vision: to provide children with the very best educational start in life. Their approach is rooted in the belief that children should be children for as long as possible. Through guided play, youngsters from 12 months to Grade 00 develop confidence, curiosity and life skills within a safe and joyful environment.

“At Waterfall Pre-Primary it is our aim to nurture and encourage every child in our care to realise his or her full potential. Our teachers and staff are equipped to develop each little person’s confidence, concentration and age-appropriate life skills. This hands-on approach ensures that children have the freedom to play and to learn,” said Principal Mason.

Families visiting the school often remark on the cheerful atmosphere, the sound of happy children and the thoughtfully-designed u-shaped courtyard that makes the school feel both safe and welcoming. The large, spacious classrooms and inviting back garden add to this sense of freedom — with a sensory path, mud kitchen and plenty of open space to run, play and explore.

As an independent, Christian-based school, Waterfall Pre-Primary embraces parent participation, community outreach and a deep respect for the environment. The curriculum, aligned with the National Curriculum Framework, is designed to inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Beyond the classroom, the school minimises stress for busy families by offering nutritious meals, aftercare, holiday programmes and even a party venue. Parents enjoy seamless communication through the Tadpoles app, which keeps them updated on their child’s daily activities, progress and milestones — making them part of every step of their child’s learning journey.

Above all, Waterfall Pre-Primary is about partnership: hand-in-hand with parents, teachers and children working together to nurture growth. In a world that often rushes children to grow up too quickly, this school stands firmly by its vision – hand-in-hand as we play, learn and grow together.
