Golfer, Caitlyn Mcnab, get her nomination for GSport

The 18-year old is ranked first in GolfRSA Amateur Women's Open, junior, and performance rankings and has secured this position for over a year.

The finalists for the GSport Awards were recently announced and one of the country’s top-ranked women golfers was among them.

Caitlyn Mcnab, playing from the Serengeti Golf Estates, was proud to be a contender in her category. The winners in the various categories will be announced at the end of the month.

The 18-year old is ranked first in GolfRSA Amateur Women’s Open, junior, and performance rankings and has secured this position for over a year.

She has represented South Africa in numerous countries over the past year, Japan, USA, Northern Ireland to name but a few and has excelled on the international stage.

“I am proud to be one of the finalists and was quite surprised to be nominated in such a big competition for women sport in the country. “Only to be there will be a great experience for me. Our country has lots of great women sport personalities in different codes.”

She is a great ambassador for women’s golf. She won both the 2020 GolfRSA Women’s Amateur Championships and Stroke Play Championship and secured the rare double win in the same year.

She took up the code of golf already at the age of four years, having her whole family supporting her ever since. Caitlyn is hardworking and love giving back her time to younger players, her passion for.  She also attained her provincial colours in athletics and softball.
