Names of retrenched former Germiston municipal employees

Kathorus MAIL is publishing the list of the names of residents of Katlehong who were employed by the Germiston City Council in 1993, following continued boycott of and non-payment of essential municipal services in the townships.

This led to many municipalities in the townships being unable to pay workers’ salaries and render services to residents. As a result of the boycotts, many municipalities were forced to retrench staff and pay workers termination packages, but many of these workers were never paid their full severance pay.
