Celebrating black excellence in photographs

Ayanda Junior Academy continues to raise funds for the expansion of the first black-owned private school in the Vosloorus Township, following a successful fundraiser and gala dinner event, at Vosloorus Civic Centre on August 26.

The City of Ekurhuleni, the business community and residents of Vosloorus and surrounding areas gathered at Vosloorus Civic Centre for a glamorous gala dinner in commemoration of the founder of Ayanda Pre-school and Ayanda Junior Academy, Margaret Tyobo, on August 26.

Tyobo is the first black businesswoman to establish a private school in the township. She was honoured for her sacrifices and her contribution to advancing the education of black children in the township.

Guests present during the event included Unitas Funeral Services, Standard Bank of South Africa, Johannesburg Vosloorus Taxi Association, members of the Zulu Congregational Church, parents, friends and family of Tyobo.
