Chacklas dominate Stellies 4-0 to lift Vosloorus pool title
Vosloorus snooker fans witness a 4-0 rout as Chacklas Pool Table Club clinches the championship at home.
Chacklas Pool Table Club thrashed Stellies Pool Table Club 4-0 in the final match of the championship in the Top 6 Vosloorus Tavern Owners Pool Association (VTOPA) tournament on home soil at Chacklas Pub in Vosloorus on October 5.
Leading up to the intense final match, Stellies defeated Ekoneni Pool Table Club 4-3 in a dramatic semi-final match to secure a spot in the final. In another fun-filled semi-final, Chacklas Club beat Mkhonto Pool Table Club 3-0.
The thrilling final between Chacklas and Stellies Club started on a high note, with Chacklas taking the lead in the first segment to make it 1-0. Chacklas proved to be a tough opponent and increased their lead to 2-0.
Stellies players could not capitalise on opportunities during the match and were punished by the home side.
Chacklas maintained their dominance and bagged another point in the third segment, increasing the score to 3-0. Stellies again failed to make the most of key chances and were outplayed by the home team.
Stellies fielded exceptional players who put up a good fight, but they were outmatched by the outstanding players on the Chacklas side. In the end, Chacklas sealed the victory by collecting the fourth and final point of the match.
The final ended with Chacklas securing a 4-0 win.

VTOPA president Lucas Masombuka said the tournament was hosted to give local snooker players a platform to showcase their talent.
“VTOPA also has its own league and the league matches take place on weekends. VTOPA is still a tender-aged pool table association in Vosloorus, but our main goal is to expand it. Pool table clubs around Vosloorus are welcome to join and become members.
“Our objective as an association is to produce pool table players who will be absorbed by Blackball South Africa and play for the South African team. We want young people to know that snooker is important like any other sport and that it can be played professionally,” Masombuka added.
He mentioned that snooker is widely disregarded as a sporting code.
“It’s a sport that can change and improve people’s lives if pursued professionally. We are trying hard to impart that knowledge to young people.”
