Thembisa’s gifted DJ and musician aims high

Thokozane Hlatshwayo aka Kinetic T plans to expand his brand internationally through collaborations with renowned artists.

Thokozane ‘Kinetic T’ Hlatshwayo is a musician and club DJ from Thembisa.

He started his musical journey in 2010 and has released numerous projects under internationally acclaimed labels, which boosted his confidence to stay in the music industry this long.

He drew the inspiration of music from the rich and diverse sounds of Afro house.

Thokozane Hlatswayo has high hopes for 2024.

The elements of African traditional music and electronic music have significantly influenced his sound and creative process.

Kinetic said that his passion for music did not start as a hobby but as a dream.

“I developed a love for music at a young age. As I grew, I knew that music was a passion worth fighting for when I experienced immense joy and fulfilment practising this art.

“This was clear to me that this is not just a hobby but a path that I was destined to pursue with unwavering dedication.”

Hlatshwayo outlines how challenges made him a better musician.

“Challenges I faced in my career were breaking into the competitive industry and gaining recognition for my unique sound.

“I used this challenge to perfect my craft as it’s a dream I have had at a young age. Through all this, my manager was there, guiding me through it all.

“We managed to network with the people in the industry, which opened the right opportunities for me to showcase my talent.

“I am deeply committed to sharing and uplifting the community. I ensure that the skills I possess are passed on to aspiring artists who wish to break into the music industry.

“Through workshops, mentorship programs, and events, I strive to nurture the next generation and preserve the essence of Afro house and tech music,” Hlatshwayo said.

He plans to expand his brand internationally through collaborations with renowned artists.

He is also preparing to release a new album and embark on a tour. His ultimate goal is to elevate the Afro house genre to new heights, solidifying his role as a key influencer in the music industry.

Listeners can expect a new song from Kinetic, which features Zaza Lords. Mel P, Natasha MD and Mazet SA.
