The most popular story last year broke in August when a metro police officer hit a mother at Kempton Park Police Station after her daughter had been arrested for speeding.

Video footage of a prior roadside altercation between the daughther, her friend and an officer was taken by a passing motorist. This video was the most watched and was also in fourth position on the list of news articles.

Later that month the metro police issued a statement giving the department’s view of the incident.

‘I don’t think I want to fully know what happened or how my son suffered that day,’ his still grieving mother told Express in May.
