Video footage of a company van deliberately bumping into a motorcyclist has led to the a disciplinary hearing for the driver.

The footage was sent to Kempton Express by Dominique Darling. The video shows a Talon company van deliberately bumping the motorbike from the back on August 10 at the intersection of De Wiekus & Elgin roads in Van Riebeeck Park. The incident occurred at about 5pm. The video camera is attached to Darling’s car.

According to Darling, she sent the video footage to the company concerned and since then the driver had a disciplinary hearing. In the meantime, the company had been trying to get in touch with the biker so they could send him a formal apology.  Darling says the company also approached Norkem Park SAPS to see if the driver had opened a case of hit and run but found nothing.

“This is not right. Who knows if the rider on the scooter ended up in bed with whiplash and therefore hasn’t been able to go to a police station in time to open a case? It really worries me that a person can do this and then not follow up,” Darling expressed.
