Win big prizes in animal school poster competition

The school with the most entries wins a Canon Colour Laser Printer valued at R6 999

YOUNG artists can win big prizes in the annual Animal Cruelty League School Poster Competition.

Animaltalk is a sponsor for the competition, which is an educational campaign to promote animal welfare through the medium of art.

To enter, children have to create posters in which people show compassion and kindness to animals, care for and effect their lives in positive ways. This poster must not just be a pretty picture, but a picture with a message.

A slogan or title may also contribute towards making the message clear.

Children can enter as many times as they like. A donation with the entry will be welcome. All money will be used by the league in its work of caring for and protecting animals.

Children may use any medium, eg paint,pastel, ink, crayon, etc and should be as creative as possible. Preferably A2 or A3 paper should be used. Posters should be bold, striking and original.

Children must remember to write their name, surname, age, grade, the category and their school’s name and email on the back of their pictures.

The finalists’ posters will be displayed on the league’s Facebook page where the first prize winners will also be announced.

The closing date is October 31.

Category 1: Grade 1 and 2: First prize R2 000

Category 2: Grade 3, 4 and 5: First prize R2 000

Category 3: Grade 6 and 7: First prize R2 000
