Widows receive food parcels from Life 4 U Foundation
The donated food parcels included 12.5 kg maize meal, 10 kg rice, 2 litre fish oil, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, beans, beef stock, tea bags and concentrated juice.
Life 4 U Foundation project hosted a widow’s care programme to cherish the widows and elderly women of Ivory Park and Tembisa on August 5.
The purpose of the event was to donate food parcels to 30 widows.
The project founder, Simon Molekwa, said they are working hard to ensure that disadvantaged families who are part of the program receive food parcels every month.

“In the book of James, it is written that a ‘pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is to care for orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world’. That is why at Life 4 U Foundation together with our partners and sponsors we aim to take care of the widows and orphans on a quarterly basis. We strive to host events to provide food and clothing to the needy widows and orphans around Ivory Park and Tembisa,” added Molekwa.
Molekwa said this month’s donation was not as successful as they had planned because they only managed to feed the families of 30 widows. “Our target is to feed 60 families. We are lacking resources and ideas how we can source more food to benefit all the needy,” explains Molekwa.

The donated food parcels included 12.5 kg maize meal, 10 kg rice, 2 litre fish oil, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, beans, beef stock, tea bags and concentrated juice.
“Despite this challenge we hope and believe that our next event will accommodate more people to alleviate poverty in our communities. As young people dedicated to building and caring for our communities, our aspiration comes from the love of God and sacrifices made by our struggle heroes such as our late former statesman, Mr Nelson Mandela and other heroes who dedicated their lives to improve the lives of others. We sincerely believe that our dream of poverty-free communities will be accomplished through self-sacrifice and the support of those who believe in our dream,” said Molekwa.

Molekwa hopes other young people will rise to their challenges and join the struggle of building a better South Africa for all who live in it.
“We thank our sponsors and partners for the continuous support,” added Molekwa.
