Tembisa Life 4 U reaches out to Katlehong community

About 30 widows and orphans from Katlehong and 20 widows from Tembisa benefited in receiving the food parcels this Easter.

As the country was observing the Passover and the Easter weekend, Tembisa Life 4 U Foundation continued to spread the love of God to the widows and orphans of the communities of Katlehong and Tembisa.

At the beginning of the year, the organisation aimed at pushing boundaries to reach out to other communities outside Tembisa, thus this Easter the organisation managed to reach out to the community of Katlehong by handing out food parcels to the widows and orphans in that community.

About 30 widows and orphans from Katlehong and 20 widows from Tembisa benefited in receiving the food parcels the past Easter.

According to Life 4 U Foundation founder Simon Molekwa, Life 4 U Foundation is deeply rooted in the ways of God that’s why during the Passover weekend they made sure to visit the widows and orphans.

“In the Book of James, it is written that true religion also includes visiting, help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world. It is very important for each and every society to make sure that the widows, orphans, the needy and the foreigners are well taken care off in our communities because by doing that it reflects the love of God,” said Molekwa.

Molekwa emphasised that many times in the communities they see people sleeping on an empty stomach while those who have are throwing food in their dustbins and this is not right.

“Our communities must learn and practice to love and share with those who don’t have. This love must also be shared with needy foreigners who come to live in our communities. It is a very unfortunate situation to see the scourge of poverty in our communities and seeing people struggling so much, these calls for unity amongst community members to fight this scourge of poverty in our society by helping one another,” he added.

Molekwa further said for them as an organisation, to take this poverty relief program to other Ekurhuleni townships was to make sure that they share the love of God with other widows and orphans outside of Tembisa to alleviate poverty.

In this outreach 50 beneficiaries received food parcels that included 12.5kg maize meal, 10kg rice, 2L fish oil, 1L concentrated juice, a box of soup, a box of soya mince, 500g salt, 2kg sugar, 1kg iwisa porridge, 1kg flour, 12 beef cubes, vinegar and tea bags.

“It is through the support of our partners and sponsors that our organisation is able to develop our communities thus the organisation is very grateful for all the support we receive now and then,” said Molekwa.
