Fun walk in Tembisa organised by Abundant Life Christian Centre

Abundant Life Christian Centre hosted its annual fun walk.

Scores of community members were splashed with coloured powder as they participated in numerous games at a fun walk event on June 23.

Marketing and media liaison of Abundant Life Christian Centre Katlego Chiloane said the fun walk was staged for raising awareness against alcohol and substance abuse.

He said more than 200 Tembisa residents and people from different churches attended the event.

Chiloane said the event will assist in preventing children from engaging in alcohol and substance abuse by keeping them off the streets.

“They will learn to keep healthy by engaging in walking activities and participating in indigenous games.

“We had people from a soup kitchen that we sponsor at Abundant Life Christian Centre and also people from different churches.

“We want to say thanks to everyone who attended and we are looking forward to seeing you next year,” said Chiloane.

He said the campaign has made alcohol and substance abusers aware that they are still loved and remain part of the community.

“This event doubles as a family day and everyone had fun.

“This is celebrating Youth Month in style,” Chiloane said.

He said the event was sponsored by Ascend Pharma and the Engine garage in Emfihlweni.
