Zamokuhle gets new service provider for its emergency unit

Mhangwane said the company accepts the majority of medical aids at medical aid rates and based on available benefits.

Lenmend Zamokuhle Private Hospital launched ER Consulting Inc as their service provider to run the emergency (casualty) unit on June 2.

Petunia Mhangwane, customer relations officer, said the hospital is proud to announce that from July 2, the emergency department is under new management from ER Consulting Inc.

“Full-time emergency doctors will be based in the Lenmed Zamokuhle Private Hospital emergency department 24 hours per day, and are therefore available to treat each and every emergency that presents in the shortest possible time. In line with international standards of care, ER Consulting Inc employs the triage system (SATS) to ensure that patients are seen and treated appropriately according to the acuity of their illness or injury,” added Mhangwane.

Mhangwane said the company accepts the majority of medical aids at medical aid rates and based on available benefits.

Dr Steven Holt (ER Consulting managing director) addresses the staff members at Lenmend Zamokuhle Private Hospital on July 2.

“Rates are available on enquiry. First Care Solutions (Pty) Ltd and the Africa Institute of Emergency Medicine (Pty) Ltd are ER Consulting’s administrative and training partners. First Care Solutions provides a wide variety of practice management services while the Africa Institute of Emergency Medicine provides emergency medicine training programmes and courses,” she explained.

ER Consulting Inc (Dr Steven Holt and Partners) is the leading independent emergency unit management company in South Africa, currently managing 23 emergency units nationally.

“The company employs doctors through a rigorous human resources and clinical review process. In addition, ER Consulting Inc employs emergency physicians (the highest emergency medicine qualification in South Africa) to guide their clinical governance policies in the company. Integrity, ethics and attention to detail are the keys to the successful management of their business,” said Mhangwane.

Mhangwane said they like the fact that the company’s policies and procedures ensure consistent quality of care.
