Maimane encourages Tembisa youth to vote
DA leader Mmusi Maimane takes young people to IEC offices in Tembisa to register to vote.
Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) Mmusi Maimane visited the Tembisa branch of the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) on August 2 to encourage young people to register to vote.
Maimane said the reason for the DA visiting Tembisa is because it has become clear that over nine million South Africans cannot find jobs and every quarter an additional 100 000 is being added to the ranks of the unemployed.
“This is a real crisis in South Africa. The ANC has run out of ideas on how to solve this crisis.

“Ours is to say we must introduce policies that allow small businesses to thrive, ensure that cities are at the forefront of development, ensure that when we do land reform we do it in such a way that people own land in their own rights and ultimately young people should get an internship programme for a year whereupon in that year they are able to do skills development and be able to create work.

“The only way to develop those policies is for young people to vote for change next year. Today we have come because many young people are not registered to vote. The future is in their hands.”
He added that the future has to be determined by South Africans who want the economy to grow and become inclusive.
