Swedish journalists take a look at Norkem Park community

The aim of the three Swedish journalists was to report on the state of South African communities.

An international media team from Sweden accompanied AfriForum’s Kempton Park neighbourhood watch on a visibility patrol in Norkem Park on Monday.

The aim of the three Swedish journalists was to report on the state of South African communities.

“The purpose of the patrol was to act proactively, thereby deterring criminals. AfriForum currently has more than 7 000 neighbourhood watch members across South Africa,” said Jan Vermaak, AfriForum’s Kempton Park branch chairperson and commander of Project Nehemiah on the East Rand.

The police and MML Security also joined the patrol. About 15 neighbourhood watch members, six police members, three security officers and three Swedish journalists participated in the patrol.

Also on patrol was Prins, a trained dog owned by Lukas Erasmus, one of the Kempton Park neighbourhood watch’s chairpersons.
