Spring Taboo does not disappoint Tembisans
Spring Taboo attracts music lovers from outside Tembisa.
On September 1 and 2, Tembisa residents welcomed Spring in style with big names in the entertainment industry gracing the Spring Taboo event.
The event’s public relations officer, Sifiso Mkhwanazi, said as Sebola production team, they would like to thank Tembisa for all the support they gave Spring Taboo 2018.
“It was overwhelming to have a lot of people coming to the event. We did not expect so many in attendance. It is humbling to start something and people support it the way they did,” said Mkhwanazi.
He said on September 1 all the artists they promised to the fans did come and gave beautiful performances.
Mkhwanazi said the artists were very happy with Spring Taboo’s well-executed production.
“I remember when I got stuck in traffic with Stilo Magolide he told me he enjoyed performing in Tembisa because of the crowd and the support he got from Tembisa fans.
“All the artists were happy because Tembisa residents knew their songs and they know Tembisa supports most local music.
“It was unfortunate to have some people throw bottles on stage when we had to close and ruined some of the equipment in the process,” said Mkhwanazi.
He said many people do not know by-laws require all such events must shut down at 2am and due to the lack of such knowledge people responded negatively when it was time to close. He said those were the minor challenges they dealt with.
