AGF Church hosts children’s event against bullying

On May 1, the Sunday school teachers of Assemblies of God Fellowship in Ivory Park, Tembisa, hosted a fun day for the children’s ministry.
The children were given an opportunity to express themselves through singing, preaching and having fun.
“The day started with a 1km fun walk. All dressed in T-shirts with the church’s branding on it, the children came ready and prepared to enjoy the day. Thanks to Sister Anna for the walk and dances. It was a blessed day indeed,” said Mavis Msimango, children’s ministry head principal.

“Together with Celia Sambo and Silas Ntimbe, we made it. We are thankful for the wonderful support we received from the church, especially the youth department that gave us one of their members to be dressed up as a clown and who entertained the children with dances and face painting. We are also grateful for everyone who sponsored the event,” said Msimango.
“The initiative was inspired by the scripture found in Proverbs 22:6, which says: “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.’ It has been discovered that most of these children suffer from challenges, such as bullies at schools.
“We encourage all the parents in communities to take their children to such events and to ensure that they love them because they’re a gift from God,” explained Msimango.
“In the service, they were told about how special they are and how they were born to impact the world,” said Msimango.
“We believe that children need to be loved and cared for. Parents should spend quality time with them because failure to do so will cause them to be overcome by challenges they face daily at school,” said Rolinah Gamo, a church member who came to support the event.
