91 runners tackle Kempton Road Runners trail run

Runners joined each other for an amazing run.

More than 90 runners and walkers tackled the annual Kempton Road Runners (KRR) Stofpad Trail Run at Erora Motocross Track on Modderfontein Road recently.

Route master Reghard Cousins designed 6km and 12km routes on the track, with spot prizes awarded to participants after the event. KRR chairperson Frits Klaver welcomed the 91 entrants, congratulated the finishers and thanked the sponsors.

Proceeds from the event help fund KRR’s Comrades Marathon support tables, which play a vital role in helping athletes achieve their goals while promoting the club.

KRR celebrated 34 Comrades Marathon finishers in 2026 and hopes to increase this number for the 100th Comrades run in 2027.

Stofpad runner and committee member Bruce Lee said the event offered dirt road joy with sunshine, dust and laughs among fellow runners, adding that the friendly route and relaxed vibe made it feel like a family outing.
