Plastic waste to be discussed at society’s meeting

The presentation takes place at Modderfontein Town Hall, 1 Casino Road, at 7.30pm.

The problems posed by plastic waste and what is being done to address this very concerning issue will be the subject of Modderfontein Conservation Society’s next illustrated talk on May 16.

Jacques Lightfoot, sustainability manager at PlasticsSA, is the guest presenter who will talk on the subject: ending plastics waste. He comes with a BTech degree in Polymer Technology from Tshwane University of Technology which he completed in 2006.

This technical know-how, together with invaluable experience in the industry, has given him an insight and understanding of the challenges facing the plastics industry internationally and in South Africa specifically.

He will discuss the current challenges and actions the South African plastics industry is taking to end plastic waste.

The presentation takes place at Modderfontein Town Hall, 1 Casino Road, at 7.30pm. Visitors are welcome to attend the talk.

An entrance fee of R30 is charged to help cover expenses. For more information, call Jenny Gough on 082 685 0959.
