Young man wants to nurture talent in Tembisa

'I believe everyone had to start somewhere and Pusha Brand is the ideal starting point for the youth'

Finally Kasi residents get a platform to showcase Tembisa’s enormous talent.

Pusha Brand is a non-profit organisation that seeks to nurture local skill in the entertainment industry by organising edutainment activities in the township.

Director and founder of Pusha Brand Mangope Sam Lesufi said he was inspired to start the movement after he observed talent going to waste as a result of substance abuse and crime.

On June 15, Pusha Brand will offer a platform to the youth to present their talent and hopefully get scouted by leaders in the industry.

“We hope to rope in government and businesses to sponsor the endeavour,” said Lesufi, also known as Nerdy Poetic.

He said he is a hip-hop artist and performed on different stages around Gauteng.

“I realised the kind of events I performed at were designed to be occasions for just a day and were not sustainable.

“Therefore, I wanted something that can be continuous and keep young people busy on a regular basis,” said Nerdy Poetic.

He said that is how Pusha Brand came to be – he believed anything can be a brand, it only takes a bit of push in the right direction.

“I believe everyone had to start somewhere and Pusha Brand is the ideal starting point for the youth,” said Nerdy Poetic.

If you have a talent to showcase you can contact Nerdy Poetic on 079 271 1120 or come to Ivory Park North Hall on June 15.

He said through Pusha Brand, Tembisa youth will shine on world stages.
