Alleged nyaope dealer caught at Vusimuzi Hostel

The suspect will face charges of possession and dealing illicit substances.

While on patrol on May 17 around 2pm, EMPD Public Order Policing (POP) Task Team members were approached by a member of the public who informed them about a person selling nyaope at Vusimuzi Hostel in Tembisa.

The POP Task Team members responded swiftly and managed to arrest a 24-year-old South African male found in possession of 41 plastic-wrapped packets of nyaope valued at over R1 200 on the street. R50 in cash was also seized from the suspect, said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson.

The nyaope and cash were booked in at Tembisa Police Station.
