Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after an Esselen Park pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run on April 28.
According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, a motorist saw the victim lying in a veld next to the Greenfield RDP houses shortly after 7am.
“Paramedics were called to the scene, where the victim was declared dead,” Molokomme told Express.
Molokomme explained that preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was likely knocked down by a motorist, who failed to report the incident to police.
