Do you know any of these Kempton Park West ‘camera thieves’?

Police are searching for them in connection with stolen security cameras worth around R18 000.

Police are searching for two alleged thieves after security cameras worth about R18 000 were stolen in Kempton Park West.

According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, two separate incidents were reported, one between April 19 and 27, and the second between May 10 and 13.

The first complainant, a resident on Heuwel Avenue, returned home from the Easter holiday to discover two of her home’s outside security cameras were missing.

“CCTV footage showed an unknown person removing the two cameras worth R11 000,” Molokomme told Express.

The second incident took place at Westside Primary School on Keir Avenue during the course of the May 10 weekend. “All was in order at the school that Friday. The next Monday the complainant noticed cameras on the premises weren’t working and found them missing upon investigation,” Molokomme explained.

Footage of the incident shows a man scaling the wall of the school and removing cameras estimated to be worth around R7 000.

It is unclear at this stage if the two incidents are linked.

Anyone with information about either incident can contact D/Sgt Collen Molomo on 084 377 6727 or 011 391 1814/5.
