Church celebrates Father’s Day by washing cars
Youth Pastor Khutso Mokgehle said they wanted to do something different for the community
His Word-Driven Ministries church, Youth Ministry, from Ivory Park Extension 13 celebrated Father’s Day by offering the community to wash their cars for free on June 16 as part of their Youth Programmes.
Funda Dube is one of the community members who brought his car for a treat. According to Dube, the special treat will enable him to save at least R70 for a day which he would have paid if he took his car to a real car wash.
“I was informed by my neighbour who is a member of the congregation that they will be offering a free car wash in celebration of Father’s Day. I could not believe it until I came to fetch my car,” said Dube.
Youth Pastor Khutso Mokgehle said they wanted to do something different for the community in celebration of Father’s Day.
“We have other Youth Programmes in which we go to schools and give them motivational talks and donate sanitary pads to primary school learners and further educate them about health issues,” said Mokgehle.
