Hospice offers home-based care course

Would you like to train to be a home-based carer?

Hospice East Rand is offering an 11-month accredited course to 20 learners from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

The successful candidates must have a Grade 12 certificate and be between the ages of 19 and 25 years.

The requirements are:

• Candidates must have compassion, empathy and a great desire to care for the sick and their families.

• Candidates must be completely committed to finishing the course for the stipulated period.

• Candidates must be able to transport themselves to and from the training venue in Benoni and to workplace allocations for the practical component.

• The course is suitable for learners who did not qualify for university entrance after matric.
