Church commemorates June 16 with Winnie Mandela youths
Assemblies of God church celebrates freedom with the congregation.
Assemblies of God (AGF) Winnie Mandela Youth marked June 16 by fusing the church service with celebratory Youth Day performances as part of their programmes.
The church began with its usual service with the youth group. They combined gospel songs with words of encouragement and poems quoting from Bible scriptures.
The performance addressed the challenges that the youth of today face.
Former AGF Youth chairperson Pastor Sarch Khoza was invited to preach on the day.
Youth chairperson Leona Molomo said they wanted to celebrate the freedom they have as the youth of South Africa, even if it is within the church walls.
“We have to be proud and grateful for what we have and continue to build being future leaders and set great examples,” said Molomo.
“Our poems encouraged people to stay away from social ills and find room in God,” added Molomo.
