Phemelo wishes to instil a sense of independence among young people

The pageant empowers teenage girls to be young leaders of tomorrow.

Bubbly and vivacious Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa 2019 finalist, Phemelo Metswi, has her eyes set on the crown.

Metswi stands a chance of getting her name written in the history books as the first local contestant to clinch the coveted crown.

The pageant’s grand finale is billed for August 16 at the Gold Reef City Casino.

“I am super excited to have made the final cut. What motivates me is the fact that I get to be counted among the influential young women in South Africa, doing all we can to make the community and the country a desired place as well as being tomorrow’s young leaders,” she says.

“I would like to thank my sponsors, Chammy and Vinny Trading Enterprise, Rendanani Transport and Tours, Iconic Ventures, Khalahari Fashion, Willlie Lekalakala and Michelle,” acknowledges Metswi.

The road to the finals is not going to be easy, though, for the elegant model. She will need support and prayers of the community.

To keep her on top, simply vote for her by sending an SMS to 39945 with the words “Vote Phemelo”.

“Besides voting, the community can support me by buying tickets to the grand finale, and remember to use my name as a reference,” she appeals.

The pageant empowers teenage girls to be young leaders of tomorrow. All contestants need to make a difference in their communities.

“Apart from my own empowerment, I entered this competition with the intention of developing the community, especially young girls. I am interested

in grooming young girls to become independent and future focused individuals who will impact our country and the world with good deeds. I believe if we all pull together in advancing the young generation, we can ease our country’s burden of dependency, and instil in our youth a sense of independence, and this will assist in bringing wealth to the community,” says Metswi.
