Kempton liquor outlets closed during police operation

Large quantities of alcohol were confiscated during operation O Kae Molao in Kempton Park CBD.

Senior officers of Kempton Park SAPS embarked on operation O Kae Molao on Friday.

“O Kae Molao means ‘where is the law?’ and it was led by station commander Brig Samuel Maredi,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The operation was from 9am to 2pm and began at the corner of Central Avenue and Pretoria Road where most incidents of common robberies and theft out of motor vehicles are prevalent.”

Mtshali said the operation proceeded to the corner of North Rand Road and Greyilla Street where several liquor outlets were closed.

“Large quantities of alcohol were confiscated as the liquor outlets were selling without liquor licences,” said Mtshali.

“Another outlet where liquor was confiscated was on Monument Road. The station commander appreciated the cooporation of the community and promised that these operations would continue on a weekly basis to ensure the law was complied with.”
