Nursery school helps Kempton Park SPCA
The school ran a winter drive and children brought in food and blankets.
Kempton Park SPCA received a generous donation from Uitblinkers Kleuterskool & Naskoolsentrum/Nursery School and Aftercare on June 14.
The Nimrod Park-based nursery school donated food and blankets for the animals at the society.
“This year we decided to help the animals that are often cold and hungry during winter,” said Renée Groesbeek, co-owner of the nursery school.
“Sometimes people forget to care for these animals, especially during the cold weather, so we just wanted to do our bit to help feed the animals and keep them warm.”
The school ran a winter drive and children brought in food and blankets.
“We were blessed that 26 of the blankets were donated by Lofdal Bikers Church and we truly appreciate it,” said Elzaan Pretorius, the other co-owner of the nursery school.
“Thank you to the parents of the school as well who joined hands and supported the initiative, we couldn’t have done it without their assistance.”
Kira Sparrow, manager at Kempton Park SPCA, was grateful and said: “We are humbled by such acts from our community. People don’t always realise their care, support and generosity go a long way in assisting the animals. We appreciate their efforts.”
