Lion Stars celebrate Youth Month

The day’s events started off with a fun walk in the streets of the central business district and were followed by awareness talks from metro police and police officers.

Lion Star Youth Foundation, in collaboration with Kempton Park SAPS’ Youth Crime Prevention Desk, held a fun walk in celebration of June 16 and Youth Month.The event was held on June 15 at the grounds on Maxwell Street opposite the artisan school.

Themed, say no to drugs, alcohol, and women and child abuse, the event also served as the annual sports against crime programme.

“The purpose of the event was to commemorate our fallen heroes of 1976 and also to bring awareness to issues that our communities, country and continent are faced with. Issues such as drugs, alcohol, women and children abuse and child trafficking,” said Sharleen Mbalo, the foundation’s marketing manager.
