Local brand donates to Thuthukani Day Care Centre in Ivory Park
These clothes are not that much, but they would be able to help those who do not have anything
Local clothing brand MC Brand visited Thuthukani Day Care Centre in Ivory Park, Extension Two to donate clothes on July 3.
The centre’s administrator, Tshepo Makhubedu, was there to welcome the donation.
Sithembiso Mkhabela, MC Brand founder, said Mc Brand saw it fit to donate because they wanted to help the needy and give back to the community as that is one of the reasons why the company was started.
“These clothes are not that much, but they would be able to help those who do not have anything, especially now that it is winter,” said Mkhabela.
“We are a clothing printing company, but we also print on banners, cups and other things. We also do customisation of clothes. We are planning to help the centre by teaching the children printing and art skills which they will be able to use in future.
“We even wish we could get funding so we can buy more resources that will help us reach more centres that have underprivileged children. We also partner with an NGO called Ambitious Powerful Woman to help children with sanitary products. Please follow us on Facebook: MC Clothing Brand,” added Mkhabela.
Makhubedu said, as the centre, they would like to thank MC Brand for working together with and choosing them.
“At the centre, we work mostly with orphans and others who do not have proper warm clothes for winter.
“There is always a need for clothing. We cater for 323 children this year who are in need of food and clothing,” said Makhubedu.
Makhubedu also said they have after-school sessions where they help children with their school work and assignments.
