Nominations needed for ward 104 committee election

The person must be at least 18 years of age,

Nominations are awaited for candidates to fill the vacant position for faith-based organisations on the ward committee of Ward 104.

The ward comprises Esther Park, Edleen, Terenure, Kempton Park West, parts of Birch Acres and parts of Van Riebeeck Park.

The nomination process is open until July 9 and the election will take place at 6pm on July 22 in the exco room at Kempton Park Civic Centre.

Nomination forms are available at libraries and public participation offices. After completion it must be submitted to the public participation offices.

The requirements to be nominated/elected as a ward committee member are:

• The person must be a South African citizen,

• The person must be a registered voter of the particular ward,

• The person must be at least 18 years of age,

• The person must have no criminal convictions, and

• The person must not owe council money for services, or be in arrears but is willing to make the necessary arrangements to settle the account according to set council policy.
