Rabie Ridge police destroy confiscated liquor

Rabie Ridge SAPS warns liquor outlets to comply with the Liquor Act

Rabie Ridge SAPS warned liquor outlets to comply with the Liquor Act, and also dispel the misconception that police officers confiscate liquor from the outlets in order to consume it.

Police communication officer Const Jacob Nhlongo says the liquor confiscated at illegal liquor outlets is destroyed with the empty bottled sold at the nearest legal liquor outlet. The proceeds of the money collected are deposited into the concerned police station’s financial office.

“We advise all liquor outlets to comply with the Liquor Act, and especially to observe business closing times. Those who do not comply will have their liquor confiscated and have their permits to trade revoked,” said Nhlogo.
