Load of groceries missing after hijacking

The victim was fortunately not harmed and the case was registered at Tembisa Police Station.

A delivery vehicle transporting a load of groceries was hijacked at gunpoint in Moriting Section on Wednesday.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Mqantsa Section with all the groceries missing.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson, said two men with a firearm hijacked the vehicle at 2.30pm on September Street.

“The driver was also robbed of cash amounting to over R14 000. The lookout was given at 3pm and the vehicle was recovered around 3.30pm on Lizard Street,” said Kgasago.

By that time the groceries were gone.

The victim was fortunately not harmed and the case was registered at Tembisa Police Station.

In another incident on Wednesday, a red Toyota Conquest, which was stolen in Pretoria West, was located in Tembisa.

The theft occurred in the early hours of Wednesday with the recovery taking place at 8am in Tembisa, said Kgasago.
