Search at Rhodesfield school yields no drugs
Law enforcement agencies on a regular basis arrange with education authorities to conduct school searches at pre-identified schools.
A search at Rhodesfield Technical High School by police and the metro police on July 23 did not yield any dangerous narcotics or firearms.
Kempton Park metro police precinct officers, the metro police K9 Unit, together with police officers conducted the search, which yielded dagga pips, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, matches, lighters, condoms and a pair of scissors, said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the metro police.
“As safety challenges at our schools are regularly arising because of some learners carrying dangerous weapons to schools and some using narcotics, law enforcement agencies on a regular basis arrange with education authorities to conduct school searches at pre-identified schools in the City of Ekurhuleni,” said Kgasago.
