Police confiscate illegal items at Bokamoso Secondary School

Dagga found on school grounds.

Dagga, matches, scissors, earrings and rizzla paper used in making zolls (dagga cigarettes) were confiscated during the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) and SAPS’ joint operation meant to clean schools of illegal possessions.

According to Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago this time they targeted the Bokamoso Secondary School where these illegal items were recovered from the learners.

“The Bokamoso Secondary School had its classrooms, toilets, learners and their bags, as well as the school’s premises, searched by the police.

All the confiscated items were sealed and booked in at Tembisa Police Station. No incidents occurred and no arrests were made during this raid,” explained Kgasago.

He further explained that they conduct such random operations targeting mostly high schools.

“The EMPD and SAPS officers periodically conduct searches to pre-identified schools with the objective of ensuring that no learners are in possession of drugs and dangerous weapons,” he explained.
