Woman heals Tembisa residents with her beautiful gospel voice
'I am happy that many of my fans will sing along with me'
A woman heals Tembisa residents with her beautiful gospel voice.
Sindiswa Maseko sternly follows her calling through her academic profession and musically. Maseko’s calling is to heal people physically, emotionally and spiritually.
As a professional nurse, Maseko can reach out to a number of troubled souls and bring about hope in people’s lives through gospel music.
“I was born to Jane Dabula, and after many months of nursing me as a sickly baby who was showing no signs of recovery, my mother took me to a faith healer who healed me and named me Sindiswa, which means ‘be saved’.”
“Little did my mother know that this sickly baby will grow up to become a woman of faith who will dedicate her life to healing people herself,” said Maseko.
Thereafter, she grew up to be a proud member and a product of Assemblies of God Sunday School.
Maseko’s musical journey was foreseen by many members of The Assemblies of God Church in Mdantsane, Cape Town.
“From an early age I had an extraordinary singing talent.
“I was not shy to show off my singing gift. This was the only time I felt alive and on top of the world.
“I conquered the low self-esteem I suffered as a result of negative comments about my skinny body.
“For that reason, I joined and became actively involved in Sunday school activities,” said Maseko.
Maseko eventually got her break when she recorded her first album, called Amazulu Avulekile.
Tracks on the album, like Amazulu Avulekile, Uyabathwala and Wagebis’ikhanda, she rearranged and produced herself.
“I am happy that many of my fans will sing along with me,” said Maseko.
