Chaos erupted at Norkem Park High School on Wednesday morning with matric pupils allegedly being chased out of the school premises by police.
According to a group of matriculants, the problem started when they went to the deputy principal’s office demanding answers about their long-awaited matric jackets.
“We were shocked to see the principal later come to class with police and selecting a few of us, instructing us to leave the school,” said one of the learners.
“He went to different classes and picked randomly and we were forcibly chased out of school.”
Stones and bricks were also allegedly thrown at the matriculants who were chased away.
Hasani Chauke, principal of Norkem Park High School, told Express he was by law not allowed to comment on the matter.
Express was unable to get hold of Col Tobie Strauss, station commander of Norkem Park SAPS.
