CMT to host Siyayinqoba programme at Ethafeni Park

Community invited to free testing day at Ethafeni Park.

The Community Media Trust (CMT), a non-profit organisation (NPO), will be hosting a demand creation event, the Siyayinqoba programme, at Ethafeni Park on November 22.

The trust has been commissioned by the Aurum Institute to design and implement a communication campaign that aims to create awareness about making uptake of health services, especially in relation to HIV testing, treatment initiation and adherence.

Velaphi Ngobeni, community liaison officer, said on the day of the event they will be mobilising people to come through and test for HIV and other diseases.

“There will be youth-related NGOs, including POWA, Makukhanye Alcohol and Drug Centre and the Department of Social Development,” said Ngobeni.

“We will again be available at Phumlani Mall on December 5. Entertainment will be available, from DJs and musicians to dancers,” added Ngobeni.

The target audiences are women aged 15 to 29 and men aged 24 to 35 and key populations, such as sex workers, and other vulnerable populations.

For more details contact Ngobeni on 071 880 7522 or Lorraine Mbongo on 084 059 0437.
