Many Terenure, Kempton Park West and Birch Acres residents contributed to the drives

Two Santa drives, including 34 vehicles, distributed over 7 000 packets of sweets to children in Terenure, Kempton Park West and Birch Acres on December 21.
According to Anuska Engelbrecht, chairperson of Alleycats SCF NHW NP Sector 3, they joined forces with NP SCF Sector 4 two organise the very successful drives which took place at the same time.
Thirty-four vehicles participated, including Alpha Security, FEMS Medical Services and two police vehicles, represented by all four sector managers and additional police members.
The Santa drives were once again a huge hit with all the residents who were waiting outside their houses with great anticipation in both sectors, said Engelbrecht.

7 224 packets of sweets, chips, popcorn and lollipops were handed out as well as about 100 gifts. Twelve food hampers were discretely handed to families who needed a helping hand.
“Many residents residing in Sector 3 and Sector 4 made contributions towards the handouts. Teams started collecting donations from the end of October until December 20. A huge thank you to all our residents for their huge donations towards our Santa drive. It allowed us to give back to the community in a phenominal way,” added Engelbrecht.
The Santa drive crew, 76 adults and 46 children, were also spoiled this year with free boerie rolls, hotdogs, cooldrinks and bottled water, sponsored by residents, Alpha Security & FEMS Medical Services and Absolute Water.
