Thembisa Afro-soul singer steals hearts
His album, 'Ilanga', is a fusion of Afro-Soul music with 10 soul-stirring tracks.
C-Souls, aka Motlotlisi Mdunusana, is a Thembisa-based Afro-soul musician, guitarist and songwriter who is captivating hearts.

His album Ilanga is a fusion of Afro-Soul music with 10 soul-stirring tracks that with a bit of Africanacity.
“The title track is also called Ilanga. The reason for titling the album is because I wanted to encourage other people that the sun will shine again.”
He was born in the Eastern Cape and relocated to Johannesburg in 2003.

“I relocated to finish my education at Modeopo Primary School.
“I started singing in the choir while I was in primary school and it was there that my passion for music was ignited and fostered.
“Many of my classmates used to make fun of me back then. I was one of the many learners who didn’t know how to sing. Because of my enthusiasm, I persevered.”
One of his highlights was when he was in high school and joined a group of four young lads known as Boys of Hope.
After a few years, the group broke up because the majority of the members had graduated from high school.

“This experience pushed me to be more creative in my singing and it was during this time that I learned to play the guitar.”
Motlotlisi founded the Ivory Park Taxi Association choir, which he later assigned to someone else.
He eventually created Bakgethwa, a youth orphanage choir made up of young people from the area.
“I started Bakgethwa because I am passionate about young people. I wanted to take them off the streets to do something productive.”
