Gay Parade awareness in Ivory Park

The event was also attended by the Ivory Park CPF, the GBV Brigade from Ivory Park and Rabie Ridge police stations.

The month of June boasts events against abuse, especially against the LGTBQ+ community.

On Saturday, June 25, the community of Ivory Park marched the streets of Ivory Park for a gay parade awareness.

“The march ended at the Ivory Park Hall aimed at making communities aware of the LGTBQ+, their existence and how they need protection as everyone else,” said Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Dipolelo Moremi.

Moremi said the march was accompanied by Colonel Chetty representing the Ivory Park SAPS.

The event was also attended by the Ivory Park CPF, the GBV Brigade from Ivory Park and Rabie Ridge police stations, the Department of Community Safety, social development and health, the Thato family and more stakeholders.
