In Grade Eight, the Thembisan resident realised he wanted to write, and his Sepedi teacher encouraged him.

“My passion has always been writing, and I value the encouragement I’ve received from my teacher. When I write, I create a mind map and note points for the book on WhatsApp.

“On weekends, I write in the morning. Every night, I write just before I go to bed. I’ve written over 15 novels so far, but they still need to be edited and published.

“I write in a variety of genres, and my writing is more concerned with growth, acceptance, and providing thought-provoking information because I tend to observe a lot and like to overthink things. I applied this to my writing,” said Mokapala.

“I obtained my ideas and information from observing society.”

He wrote his first book in 2017 during his matric year, and I published it in 2019 during his second year of study at university.

“My favourite piece, The Evil of Business-Hidden Principle of Business, speaks more about how to end the cycle of poverty than any other of my published works.”

Future writers are advised by the author to do their homework before setting out on their writing journey.
