Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the communications officer for the Ekurhuleni district, stated that intelligence indicated that the suspects were operating in a grey Hyundai and that they frequently change registration numbers when robbing victims.
“The vehicle was spotted travelling on Link Road with a false number plate, next to Esselen Park in Thembisa.
“It was stopped and the two men in the vehicle had unlicensed firearms in their possession.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that it was robbed from the owner who lives in Eastleigh, Edenvale, and it tested positive as per an Ivory Park case of February this year.
“The suspects were arrested and taken to Tembisa SAPS for detention,” said Sithole.
