They set up a roadblock at the corner of Monument Road and the R23, a notorious hijacking hotspot.

The operation aimed to address various crime-related concerns in the area and strengthen community-police relations.

During the roadblock, the team arrested three undocumented persons, and one suspect wanted for fraud.

“A total of 240 vehicles were searched, and 304 individuals screened for illegal firearms, dangerous weapons, and drugs,” said Kempton Park SAPS, spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego.

Additionally, they conducted a saturation operation in the Kempton Park CBD to ensure a visible police presence and deter criminal activity.

Parallel with the operation, the team also conducted a community outreach at the EP Malan informal settlement.

Ndlovu engaged with community members, listening to their concerns, which included:

• Alleged insults from police officers

• Seizure of foreigners’ passports

• Operation of illegal sex workers

• High rate of unemployment.

Ndlovu assured the community that their concerns would be noted, discussed, and addressed.
