Man arrested following cannabis and infused products bust
The 41-year-old man was arrested in Kempton Park after police uncovered cannabis, pre-rolled joints, and infused gummies worth R25 000.
The EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit officers arrested a man (41) for dealing in illicit substances and infused products in Kempton Park on August 1.
According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the arrest followed a sting operation in Kempton Park after information led officers to a shop on Monument Road.

On arrival, officers found the suspect inside, introduced themselves and explained the purpose of their visit.

They requested documentation for the cultivation, manufacturing or supply of cannabis, specifically an SA Health Products Regulatory Authority Section 22C licence, which the suspect could not produce.

A search of the premises uncovered 18 medium ziplock bags of cannabis, 80 pre-rolled cannabis joints in plastic containers and seven packets of cannabis-infused gummies worth an estimated street value of R25 000.
The suspect was arrested for dealing in illicit substances and infused products and detained at the Kempton Park Police Station. He will soon appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
